Guidelines for Membership The following is a brief summary of the process of steps to membership in the club. The nominee should complete the application (see link below) and return it to the tennis club with a non-refundable deposit of $100.00, addressed to: Live Oaks Tennis Association Two active members (the member offering the name in nomination and one other who is acquainted with the applicant) should submit brief letters of recommendation to the club. The nominee’s name will be placed on the Association’s waiting list When the nominee becomes number one on the waiting list, and a vacancy develops when the active membership of the Association falls below 110, the nominee will be contacted immediately to become a probationary member. During the probationary period, the sponsors should help the nominee become acquainted with the club rules, facilities and as many members as possible. The nominee should possess adequate tennis skills. This skill level should be approximately 3.0 or better on the USTA NTRP rating. The nominee should be able to comfortably play with the general membership of the club. If the nominee’s tennis skill is not already known to the club,
the sponsors should arrange a get acquainted match with one or more Live
Oaks board members and/or suggest that the nominee take one or more
tune-up lessons from Live Oaks' Director of Tennis, Jeffrey Normile, (323)
