MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES
The
following is a brief summary of the process of steps to membership
in the club
1.The nominee
should complete the application (see link below) and return it to the
tennis club with a non-refundable deposit of $100.00, addressed to:

Oaks Tennis Association
Post Office Box 246
South Pasadena, CA 91031-0246
2.Two
active members (the member offering the name in nomination and one other
who is acquainted with the applicant) should submit brief letters of
recommendation to the club.
3.The nominee’s name will be placed
on the Association’s waiting list
4. When the nominee becomes number
one on the waiting list, and a vacancy develops when the active
membership of the Association falls below 110, the nominee will be
contacted immediately to become a probationary member.
5. During the probationary period,
the sponsors should help the nominee become acquainted with the club
facilities and as many members as possible.
6. The nominee should possess
adequate tennis skills. This skill level should be approximately 3.0 or
better on the USTA NTRP rating system ( a “C” level player or better)
who can comfortably play with the general membership of the club.
7. If the nominee’s
tennis skill is not already known to the club, the sponsors should
arrange a get acquainted match with one or more Live Oaks board members
and/or suggest that the nominee take one or more tune-up lessons from
the Club Pro, Jeffrey Normile, (323) 717-9646.
8.
Once the Board is acquainted with the
nominee and satisfied as to his or her eligibility, the membership will
be approved at a monthly Board meeting.
9. The nominee will be contacted,
and will become a full member upon receipt by the Club Treasurer,
currently Tim Hummel, (626) 429-8323, of payment in the amount of
$1,100.00, which is the initiation, or membership fee of $1,200.00 less
the initial deposit of $100.00.
10. The nominee,
now an active member, will be asked to attend a welcoming with the Board
and a briefing session with the membership chairman and/or a member of
the membership committee.
